Like Juliet, I will look to the stars for you Cait.

The song is helping me cope with the death of my sorority sister. The words are concrete and dependable- and in a time like this, where the next is so uncertain and so confusing, the lyrics form a foundation of comfort. My favorite lyrics” ’ When destiny calls you, You must be strong. I may not be with you, But you’ve got to hold on. They’ll see in time, I know, We’ll show them together.’ The lyrics are two-dimensional. I can imagine Cait saying these things to us all- telling us to go on and be powerful and mindful through life. And, if we had been there with Cait, I can imagine us saying these things to her as she left us; that regardless of where we all are, we do it all with each other. Furthermore, I think it is the way that Collins sings ‘Look over your shoulder’ at the end of the song, that brings the song into focus for me. I think I simply have to remember to look over my shoulder for her guidance, because, she’ll be right along with me everyday.
